Timothy J. Wallach is a FBI Supervisory Special Agent currently assigned as the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI's) Assistant Legal Attaché in The Hague, Netherlands. In this capacity he is responsible for all FBI matters in the Netherlands. SSA Wallach has been a FBI Special Agent since 1996 and has had previous assignments in the San Diego and Washington Field Offices and FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. He has worked in a variety of investigative programs including Counter Terrorism, Cyber Crime, Organized Crime/Gang investigations and Undercover Operations.

Todd Berryman is a Special Agent assigned to the New Orleans Division of the FBI. In this capacity he is responsible for computer intrusion matters. SA Berryman has been a FBI Special Agent since 2004. He has worked in a variety of investigative programs including Counterterrorism, Cyber Crime and is a member of the New Orleans Division SWAT team.

Martijn van de Beek is a Chief Superintendent currently assigned as Head of the Dutch National High Tech Crime Unit within the Netherlands National Police Agency. In his capacity he is responsible for all investigations carried out by the National High Tech Crime Unit. Martijn van de Beek joined the Dutch Police in 1996 and after graduating Law School and the Police Academy he has served in different capacities within the Amsterdam Police Department. He joined the National Crime Squad in 2003 in the position of Head of the International Crimes Unit (former War Crimes Unit). In 2006 Martijn was involved in setting up the new High Tech Crime Unit of the National Crime Squad and became the first head of this Unit. The High Tech Crime Unit is operational as of February the 1st, 2007.

SSA Wallach, SA Berryman and Chief Superintendent van de Beek will discuss FBI/NETHERLANDS - INTERNATIONAL COOPERATIVE CASE STUDY: OPERATION SHADOWBOT. Botnets are currently one of the biggest cyber crime threats and are used for a large number of criminal activities such as DDos attacks, Phishing, distribution of spam and malware. Working closely together on an investigation which spanned numerous continents, the FBI, NHTCU and the Brazilian Federal Police successfully apprehended the coder and seller of a Botnet composed of 55,000 bots. This joint presentation will focus on the investigation and the eventual dismantling of the Botnet.
